Running your own node is interesting, especially if you have a dedicated machine, because: 1) it's safe (your $ALGO never leaves your wallet) 2) you don't have to pay any fees/commissions (like with Réti, Valar, etc.) 3) you receive rewards in real-time directly to your address every time you propose a block! 4) you can even open your node to other stakers via Valar (P2P staking - 1 node can support up to 4 addresses participating in consensus) or Réti (staking pools) to earn more revenue!
