decentralized ai needs its own stack so a team out of the @medialab built one NANDA is an open protocol for running and coordinating agentic systems across distributed infrastructure interestingly, the protocol takes a post-blockchain design, avoiding certain crypto rails as they are: - too slow for agent-level coordination and inference workloads - poorly suited for nuanced verification (e.g., contribution quality, not just resource expenditure) - economically primitive (over-indexed on tokenomics and underpowered for richer incentives like reputation, stake-weighted coordination, or fine-grained task validation) NANDA explores a path away from centralized AI while also avoiding the fragility of blockchain dependencies before fomoing into the next $1bn+ val decentralized AI network fundraising round with your favorite crypto VCs, think again... decentralized AI doesn't have to be path-dependent on crypto
